Let's start with the Braves...The addition of Michael Bourn at the trade deadline improves this team. The question is, was it enough? Yesterday, the Braves offense recorded 13 hits while scoring just one run. It's a trend we saw during the Pittsburgh series as well. Lead off man Jose Constanza had three hits on Sunday. Translation, Michael Bourn won't fix the problem of not driving in runs. That's still a huge concern going forward. McCann's ability to bounce back will be the key there. The main focus is hanging onto the wild card lead till he gets back. Any hopes of the NL East title are on hold till McCann returns.
Falcons training camp is in full swing...Justin Blalock was signed over the weekend. We're still waiting to see what happens with Jason Snelling, but all in all this team is poised to make a run at the Super Bowl.
College football teams hit the practice field this week. I'll have a brief season preview of UGA, GT and Ga Southern starting Wednesday with UGA. I think the biggest news this week will come as the Jarvis Jones situation continues to unfold.
Have a great Monday!
